Cenotaph

The word "Cenotaph" means empty tomb, it was completed in 1920 and is crafted from Portland Stone. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the dead of the Great War the various arms of service are symbolised by the flags and emblems of the Army, Air Force and Royal and Merchant Navies.
