Holy Trinity Churchyard War Memorial
Burnley, Lancashire
Inscription reads:
In memory of the men who fell in the Great War 1914-1918.
They died that we might live
The memorial stands in the grounds of the former church of the Holy Trinity on Trafalgar Street, the church is now a number of exclusive apartments and flats, entry is extremely difficult as a large electronically operated gate blocks entry. The walls surrounding the church are also too high to climb. Entry to the churchyard and memorial can be gained by phoning the telephone number on the gate. It is sad that this fine old church has been turned into accommodation, but perhaps we should be grateful that the memorial remains and has not been discarded as unfashionable.
