 CYRIL TALBOT BURNEY CROFT

Second Lieutenant Royal Flying Corps and 9th Somerset Light Infantry.

Accidentally killed whilst flying at Castle Bromwich December 8, 1915.

"Translated from the warfare of the world into the peace of god".

 

(CWGC says his name was Burnley and not Burney)

Grave within the churchyard of  Private W.S. Chapman

Somerset Light Infantry, 19th April 1919

aged 21.

The inscription on the headstone reads: Also in memory of 15131 Pte. F. W. Chapman, RMLI, HMS "Lion", killed at the battle of Jutland.
