Top inscription reads:

IN HONOUR OF THE FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE MEMBERS OF THE STAFF OF THE LONDON BRIGHTON  AND SOUTH COAST RAILWAY CO. WHO  JOINED THE FORCES OF THE CROWN DURING THE WAR OF 1914 - 1918 AND OF  WHOM THOSE WHOSE NAME APPEAR  BELOW GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR VICTORY  IN THAT GREAT STRUGGLE TO SECURE  THE LIBERTY OF THE WORLD. "THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE"

Lower inscription reads:

TO THE MEMORY OF THE SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX MEN OF THE SOUTHERN RAILWAY WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE 1939-1945 WAR.

 

The memorial is mounted on a wall directly opposite the ticket barriers next to WH Smith on the main concourse.
