Historical Information

Downpatrick is a market town 43 kilometres south-east of Belfast, and is the capital of the county. This burial ground adjoins Down Cathedral Old Cemetery, which is on the southern side of the cathedral yard.

There are 9 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-1918 war and 2 unidentified seamen of the Merchant Navy from the 1939-1945 war here.
