This cemetery lies across the road from and is the extension to Hyde Park Corner (Royal Berks) Cemetery. The extension was started in June 1916 and continuously used September 1917. At the armistice there was just one plot, but the cemetery as added to in 1930 when Rosenberg Chateau Military Cemetery and Extension  was closed and its burials re-interred here.

 

Within the cemetery is the Ploegsteert memorial, which commemorates over 11,000 servicemen who died in this sector but have no known grave.

 

GENERAL DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is located 12.5km south of Ieper on the N365 Ieper-ARmentieres road. This can be found by leaving Ieper via the Lille Gate. The cemetery and the memorial can be found on the right hand side of the road.

 

Access and parking are easy.
