GENERAL DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is North East of Ieper, from the railway station go left and drive along M. Fochalaan to the roundabout, go right and follow the road too the next roundabout. Turn left and drive to the traffic lights, then right onto the dual carriageway (A19) direction of Poelkapelle, continue for about 1km over the river, you will then see a sign for New Irish Farm Cemetery, turn left here go to the crossroads and left again, the cemetery is on the right.

This cemetery was started by Field Ambulances of the 48th (South Midland) and 58th (London) Divisions in August 1917; it was then used until January 1918. At the armistice, the cemetery contained just 86 graves. It was greatly enlarged between 1924 and 1926, when burials from the surrounding battlefields and other small burial grounds were moved here. Although named "Cemetery and Extension", the two essentially form a single site. Although, interestingly the records of the original burials and the concentrated burials were separate until 2001. Plot 1 Rows B to E make up the ‘Cemetery’ and Plot 1 Rows F to S and all of plot II  The "Extension". The majority of the burials here are unidentified.
