GENERAL DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is 11.5km south of Ieper. From the railway station in the direction of Poperinge, take the right turn onto the N375 Dikkebusseweg, pass through the village of Dikkebus and continue for a further 6km to Loker, the road changes to Dikkebusstraat, continue for just under 2km and 50 metres before reaching the village turn right, the cemetery is a further 50 metres on left. It should be noted that the cemetery is set back from the road behind a large builder’s yard and can be difficult to spot.

After being occupied by the 1st Cavalry Division on 14th October 1914, the village of Dranoutre remained in allied hands until the Germans captured it from the French in April 1918. The village was finally retaken on 30th August 1918 by 30th Division. The military cemetery was opened in July 1915 in succession to Dranoutre Churchyard which had been used for burials up until then; the cemetery continued to be used mainly by Field Ambulances until March 1918. In 1923 it became necessary to move 19 graves from the Churchyard to enable the rebuilding of the church; these burials are in Plot II Row K.
