GENERAL DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is 18km from Ieper. Take the Elverdingsestraat and continue over two small roundabouts in J, Capronstraat, The Poperingseweg (N308) is the continuation of this road. Upon reaching the Poperinge ring road (R33 Europalaan), the left hand clockwise route circles Poperinge and rejoins the N308 towards Oost Cappel. 10km after rejoining the N308 is the village of Roesbrugge, the second left in the village leads to the Haringestraat and after 2km the village of Haringe, take the second right turn in the village onto Naachtegaalstraat and the cemetery is a further 400m on the left.

 

During the war there were three Casualty Clearing Stations in this area, the troops named them Bandaghem, Mendinghem and Dozinghem. Haringhe (Bandaghem) cemetery was used by the 62nd and 63rd Casualty Clearing Stations from July 1917 who used it continuously until October 1918; it was also used by the 36th Casualty Clearing Station in 1918. There were once four plots of French graves here, but they were removed to other cemeteries after the armistice.
