GENERAL DIRECTIONS: The cemetery is located 32km east of Ieper, take the N8 Meenseweg, Ieper-Menen road, continue along this road in the direction of Kortrijk passing through Menen and Wevelgem, 1.5km past Wevelgem is the A17, take this road for 4km until it meets the E17,  thentake this road in the direction of Gent. Continue for 12km and take the junction for the N36 "Deerlijk-Vichte" towards Harelbeke. After approx. 3km, take the exit  "N43, Kortrijk-Gent". Turn left here towards Kortrijk and take a left turn onto Deerlijksestraat, the cemetery is a further 250m along on the left.
 

Harlebeke was in enemy hands throughout the war until taken by the 9th (Scottish) Division on the night of 19th -20th October 1918. The cemetery itself is typical of a concentration plot; it was made after the armistice by the concentration of graves from the surrounding battlefields. It was also later added to in 1924-25, when burials from some German cemeteries and other isolated plots in Belgium, were moved here.
