GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Leaving Ieper via the Lille Gate, take the N336 towards Armentieres, 900m after the crossroads is the right hand turn onto Kemmelseweg (N331), just by the railway crossing. Continue down this road and 1km after reaching the village of Kemmel is a left turn into Gremmerslinde, a further 1km brings you to the right hand turn into Vrooilandstraat. The cemetery can be found 800m further on the right.
Further Information: This cemetery is probably one of the most difficult to visit, it has a 400m grass access path, which then leads into the farm yard, you must pass through this yard which is usually very muddy and continue through to the cemetery. Parking is very difficult, there is nowhere to leave the car and it is necessary to leave the vehicle on a grass verge of a narrow road.
Pond Farm was in the fields about 800 m East of Packhorse Farm and it is in the fields on the north-west side of the farm that the cemetery can be found. It was started by the 3rd Rifle Brigade and 8th Buffs in July 1916, and then used constantly by Field Ambulances and fighting units until October 1917. It was later used in both April and September of 1918.
CASUALTY DETAILS: UK 296; Germany 5; Total Burials: 301
