GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Leave Ieper via the Lille Gate and go straight over the crossroads with the Ieper ring road. The name of the road then changes to Rijselseweg. (N365) continue along this road towards Wijtschate and Mesen. The first right hand turn in the village of Mesen leads onto Mesenstraat, a further 2km on the left is the street Plus Douve, the cemetery is 500m along this road on the right. Parking is easy, although access is via an 80m grass path.

There were once two farms in the valley of the river Douve north of Ploegsteert Wood. La Petite Douve was the object of a successful raid by the 7th Canadian Infantry Battalion in November 1915 and La Plus Douve, which was generally within Allied lines, was used at times as a battalion headquarters. It was also known as Ration Farm because battalion transport could approach it at night with rations. The cemetery was started here in January 1915 and used until January 1918.
