GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Leave Ieper by  taking the Elverdingsestraat, then over two roundabouts in J. Capronstraat, the Poperingseweg is a continuation of this road and begins after the railway crossing. The cemetery itself lies 7km along the N308 Poperingseweg on the right hand side of the road, after passing through the villages of Vlamertinge and Brandhoek.

Vlamertinghe became the centre for a number of medical posts and cemeteries throughout the war, and in April 1918, during the Battle of the Lys, a new cemetery was started near the "Red Farm". Red Farm Military Cemetery was used in April and May 1918.
