GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Leave Ieper via the Lille Gate, go directly over the crossroads with the Ieper ring road and take the N365 in the direction of Armentieres. Upon reaching the village of Wijtschate, just beyond lies the left turning onto Langebunderstraat. The cemetery is 200m on the left of this road.

 

Wytschaete was taken by the Germans in early November 1914, and recovered by Commonwealth forces during the Battle of Messines in June 1917, the village once again fell into enemy hands on April 16th 1918, before being re taken for the last time on 28th September. There is now only one  cemetery baring the  name of Torreken Farm , it was begun by the 5th Bn. Dorset Regiment in June 1917 and used as a front line cemetery until April 1918.
