GENERAL DIRECTIONS: Take the N375 Dikkebusseweg, this can be found on the right immediately after the railway station in the direction of Poperinge. After 10km along the Dikkebuseweg (N375) turn right into Sulferbergstraat (N315), after 2.5km is the village of Westouter. The Churchyard is located in the centre of the village and the Commonwealth plot can be found on the far right.

 

Westouter remained in either British or French hands throughout almost the whole of the war, although in 1918, it was within 2.4 kilometres of the front line. The churchyard and its extension were used by fighting units and Field Ambulances at intervals between November 1914 and September 1918.
