GENERAL DIRECTIONS: From the station, go left along M. Fochlaan, continue to the roundabout and go right, continue again to the next roundabout and turn left into M. Haiglaan. At the next roundabout, turn right into Oude Veurnestraat, this then changes name, first to Diksmidseweg and then Brugseweg, continue on this road to and over the traffic lights to the end of the road. At the T Junction turn left (still Brugseweg), and continue along this road, the cemetery can be found on the left just before the village of St Jan.
"The White House" was on the Ypres road between St. Jean and the bridge over the Bellewaardebeek. The cemetery here was started in March 1915 and used until April 1918, by fighting units holding this part of the line. At the time of the armistice, the cemetery consisted of most of Plots 1 and 2; but the cemetery was then enlarged by the concentration of burials from surrounding battlefields and other small cemeteries.
