Gandelu Communal Cemetery

Gandelu is a commune in the department of Aisne, 60 kilometres south-west of Soissons and 20 kilometres west-north-west of Chateau-Thierry on the D9. The cemetery is situated on the first road on the left after the church in the direction of Prement. The two war graves plots are at the rear right hand corner of the cemetery.

Gandelu Communal Cemetery contains five Commonwealth burials of the First World War.

Pte. John Donaldson SCOTT. 2nd (Royal Scots Greys) Dragoon Guards. 10th Sept. 1914, aged 23. Son of Isabella Scott, 98 Newhaven Road, Leith, Edinburgh and the late John Scott. Native of Eddleston, Peeblesshire


2nd Lt. James Herbert SEABROOK. Intelligence Corps and Royal Engineers. 10th Sept. 1914, aged 29. Son of William and Elizabeth Seabrook of Boreham, Essex


Lt. James Hubert SWORD. 4th (Queen's Own) Hussars. 10th Sept. 1914, aged 22. Son of Frederick Steuart and Catherine Brash Sword of "Teneriffe" Carlisle Road, Eastbourne
