General Directions: Haute-Avesnes is a village 9 kilometres west of Arras on the south side of the Arras-St Pol road. The British Cemetery is north of the village on the road leading to Habarcq (C.2).
The 51st (Highland) Division started the cemetery in July 1916 and it continued to be used by field ambulances of the divisions holding this part of the line.
