General Directions: Maurois is a village 5.2 kilometres south-west of Le Cateau. The Communal Cemetery is on the eastern side of the village. The village of Maurois was the scene of fighting in the Battle of Le Cateau, 1914, and it remained in German hands until it was occupied by the South African Brigade on the 9th October, 1918.
