Oost-Cappel is a village on the Franco-Belgian border in the Department
of the Nord, situated some 20 kilometres south-east of Dunkirk . In the
churchyard cemetery are nearly 20 burials of the Second World War. Of
these, a small number are unidentified.

Pte. Kenneth ASHWORTH, East Lancashire Regt. 29th May 1940, aged 21. Son of Alfred and Clara Ashworth of Barrowford Road, Nelson, Lancashire; husband of Hilda Ashworth.
