Plouvain Communal Cemetery

Plouvain is a village situated 14 kilometres east of Arras in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais. The communal cemetery is on the Rue de Roeux, the south-western exit of the village. There are five known WW2 burials and one unidentified solider in two separate plots. One adjoins the western boundary and the other near the western corner.

L/Cpl. Robert MACMILLAN. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. 25th April 1940, aged 26. Son of John and Elizabeth MacMillan of Coleraine, Co. Londonderry, Northern Ireland


L/Sgt. Walter MITCHELSON. East Yorkshire Regt. 20th May 1940, aged 35. Son of Walter and Margaret Mitchelson of Dudley, Northumberland


L/Sgt. Francis QUINN. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. 23rd May 1940, aged 26. Son of Patrick and Alice Mary Quinn of Burnfoot, Co. Donegal, Irish Republic
 

 

 

This memorial within the cemetery is to 17 year old Jacques Dapremez a local man who was killed helping the allies liberate the village on 1st September 1944
